Everything in my photography is about the human being, since the beginning I have been revising big surrealistic issues.
It is for this reason that Georges Bataille and his point of view about Eros and Thanato’s drama has always been present in my work, as well as the limits between life and cryogenics, pain and pleasure, and the ecstasy.
In “Les Petites Morts” I show women with an ecstatic attitude, with a confusing face expression between sexual drive and death instinct.
“Vértigo” shows women who feel vertigo to their own daily lives, these images work as domestic Venus.
In “Vírgenes” I am fusing photographs of virgin´s statues with women´s portraits. The results are hybrid characters between human beings and sculptures.
“Manual de cuidados intensivos” is about the old and very extended idea of cura sui (self – care) from Greece and Rome.
All these psychological portraits represent the cult of a strange beauty, that sometimes is disturbing and annoying but , in some way, works as a mirror for ourselves.
